A note on what's changing with onboarding I've been hearing feedback about how content shows up when you first join. Right now, new members see all posts until they're following 20 people, so their feed isn't empty on day one. The idea was to keep things simple and reduce friction when signing up. It's not working the way I hoped. People with completely different interests and views are landing on each other's feeds with no say in the matter. Which is fine but that was never the intention. Everyone should have a choice about what they see. So I'm reworking the onboarding process. When joining, you'll be walked through choosing the topics, communities, and people that actually match what you're here for. You'll also be able to filter out content you'd rather not see. None of these tools are new, they already exist on the platform, but the current process doesn't guide people through them. The new one will whilst letting people know how things work here. Once it's ready, I'll push it to all existing members too so everyone gets the chance to set things up properly. If you want to share feedback after that, I'm all ears. The goal has always been the same: you should only see content you actually want to see. This gets us closer to that. - Brick
