Searching for Legitimate Charities Hey guys. If you have ever wondered whether a charity may be legitimate/safe, there are a few things you can do. Here’s what I know for US charities. It may not be complete and there may be things I e messed up, but maybe it’s a place to start. 1. Follow your gut. If it feels sketchy, it probably is. If you want to help Ukraine somehow, throw an ask out. I guarantee the fellas will give you some ideas. 2. Check out their website/Google and look for experiences. 3. Check them out on https://www.charitynavigator.org 4. Check them out on https://app.candid.org/profile/6908122/candid-13-1837418 5. Look for their tax ID number 6. Look for transparency. This may look different from one charity to another. Do they show receipts/videos/pictures? Can they provide financial reports ? If you are uncertain, contact the charity and ask some questions. 7. Does their website end in .org? If not, dig a little deeper I hope this helps. Love, shy
