I'll admit this might be a foolish question as I don't understand the concept of creating an AI system... I read that one system went rogue and "broke out of containment" to access the Internet and hack into other systems due to a "misconfiguration".
How can that be a "misconfiguration"? What about just unplugging the freaking Ethernet cable? If you have a machine that has no WiFi and no Ethernet connection, how can it access the Internet? I'm hoping that someone here that knows more about this than I do can explain that to me. I understand these things run in big data centers, but can't you setup a section with racks of servers and not plug in the cable that goes to the Internet at large?
I seriously am willing to learn. I just don't get how that can happen. I'm hoping smarter minds than mine can shed some light.
