FrogsDen
🚨Some big updates, plus a few fixes🚨 Been a busy stretch. Here’s what’s new, and what I’ve patched up underneath. New features - For users following the NAFO Swamp. You can now get the NAFO News Room, right in your feed. @jsonbourne had a phenomenal idea: take the News Room we already had and let it live right inside your feed. So now, if you follow the NAFO swamp, you get a News Room tab showing all the latest YouTube and Telegram updates in one place. You can also choose to mix the news into your main timeline as you scroll, at Low, Medium or High, and comment on the posts alongside everyone else following along. And if you’re on desktop, you can split your feed to keep the live news on one side and your normal timeline on the other. It’s completely optional and only shows for people who want it, so it never gets in the way for anyone who’d rather not see it. Thank you Mr Bourne! - Report AI Slop. FrogsDen is for real, original, human made content. AI generated images and videos aren’t allowed here. They’re exactly the kind of thing that’s made so many other platforms feel hollow and fake, and we want to keep them off this one. You can now flag a post as AI content straight from the post menu. Click the 3 Dots on the top corner of a post > Report AI Slop. When you do, the person who posted it gets a friendly reminder that AI images and videos aren’t allowed, and why. If you have any AI images or videos on your own posts, please go and take them down, no hassle. And if AI posts keep coming after a reminder, FrogsDen will take the relevant action directly. - Clearer character counts. On posts with a minimum length, like Book Club and Blockbuster reviews, the counter is now far clearer so you can see exactly how much more you’ve got to write before you can post. This came after a message from @justkirsty Cheers for flagging it. Maintenance and fixes - Fixed a batch of bugs reported yesterday by @hoshi_tokimitsu and @odirectoro - GIFs now display and loop properly again. - Various upload and stability improvements across the site and app. - Was great to speak with @grimcreeper about FrogsDen and hear about the Desktop FrogsDen app for Linux that he built himself. Its amazing to see people interacting and showing interest in the platform! 🚨One quick note for app users🚨 If you use FrogsDen on the iOS or Android app, fully close and reopen the app twice for these changes to take effect. The first launch pulls the update in the background, the second switches it on. Thanks for all the ideas and reports, they genuinely shape what gets built around here. Keep them coming. - Brick
